East Meets West at 3rd i South Asian Film festival

One of Bollywood’s few R rated productions, a banned Sri Lankan movie, Indian film star Aamir Khan dancing in a white leather jumpsuit with a long barrel pistol in each hand –these are just glimpses into the San Francisco 3rd i South Asian Film Festival.

Now in its ninth year, the five day long movie extravaganza ran from Nov 9th to the 13th, at two stunning city venues—the Little Roxie Theater and the Castro Theater. The 15 feature length and 12 short films showcased explored issues incongruous to the Bollywood song and dance numbers often associated with South Asian film.
